Barcelona + Ibiza

Thu 27 Aug – Wed 2 Sep 2026 · 6 nights
3Badalona nights
3Ibiza nights
28–30VCT Finals
3 of 3flights booked
You land at 18:15 at Terminal 2. You've no hold bag, so there's no carousel to wait at — it's passport control, then straight out. Allow up to an hour and a half to be clear of the airport, because of step 3.
1
Get off, follow "Arribades / Arrivals"
≈ 18:15

Terminal 2 is small and signed in Catalan, Spanish and English. Just follow the crowd from your flight — everyone is going to the same place. Turn your phone off airplane mode and check your data is working before you leave the gate area.

2
Join the non-EU passport queue
≈ 18:25

There are two sets of lanes. You want "All Passports" / "Non-EU"not the EU/EEA/Swiss lane. British passports go through the non-EU side now. Don't use the e-gates.

3
Register your biometrics (EES) — first time only
The slow bit

Before the immigration desk there's a row of self-service booths. This is the EU's new Entry/Exit System and it's your first time, so you have to do it. The booth scans your passport, takes four fingerprints and a photo. It's free. Staff are there to help — if you're stuck, ask.

This can be quick or it can take a while depending on how many flights landed at once. It's the one genuinely unpredictable part of the evening. Your record then lasts three years, so you won't do this again on the way to Ibiza.

4
The immigration desk
≈ 19:00

An officer checks your passport. Usually it's ten seconds and a nod. They're allowed to ask why you're here, how long for, where you're staying, and whether you can pay for it — so have these ready on your phone before you get to the desk, not fumbling for them at the counter:

Have open and ready • Hostel booking PDF (Badalona address on it)
• Your flight home — easyJet KD6F8Q8, Ibiza → Bristol, 2 Sep
• Travel insurance details
• A card with money on it
If asked, the honest answer "Tourist. Six nights. I'm here for the VALORANT finals in Badalona, then Ibiza, then home to Bristol on the 2nd."
5
Walk straight past baggage reclaim
≈ 19:05

Cabin bags only on this flight, so nothing to collect. Go through the green "nothing to declare" channel and out into the arrivals hall.

6
Find your driver
≈ 19:10

Pre-booked transfer: your driver waits in the T2 arrivals hall holding a board with your name. Check the voucher on your phone for the exact meeting point and the driver's phone number. If you can't see them, ring the number on the voucher before you wander off.

If anything's gone wrong — no driver, no booking, phone dead — walk to the official taxi rank outside arrivals. Black and yellow cars, a marshal directing the queue. Always there, always safe. Show the driver the hostel address on your phone.

Don't Accept a lift from anyone who approaches you inside the terminal offering a taxi. Official taxis queue outside at the rank; they don't tout for business indoors.

The drive to Badalona
30–40 min

The hostel is in Badalona, a town on the coast just northeast of Barcelona — not central Barcelona. The airport is on the far southwest side, so it's a cross-city run of roughly 30 km. Nothing's gone wrong if it takes a while.

Check in at CoronaHostal
≈ 20:00

Reception takes check-ins until 23:00 — you've plenty of margin, but if the EES queue goes badly and you're going to be late, ring them. Don't just turn up after 23:00.

Before you crash — two minutes well spent
That evening

Find Pep Ventura metro station. It's on your own street, about a minute's walk, and it's your way into Barcelona all week — L2, about 25–30 minutes into the centre. Knowing where it is now saves you working it out in a hurry tomorrow.

Pep Ventura on Maps
Good news: the arena is on the same avenue as the hostel. Olimpic Arena, C/ Ponent 143–161, Badalona — roughly 1.5 km up Avinguda d'Alfons XIII. You could not have been better placed.
1
Breakfast is included
Morning

It's in the booking, so eat it. Arena food is arena food.

2
Walk it — about 20 minutes
Easiest option

Out of the hostel, turn onto Avinguda d'Alfons XIII and head northeast. Stay on the same avenue essentially the whole way. Flat, straightforward, and you'll pick up the crowd going the same direction long before you get there.

Or one stop on the metro
If it's hot

L2 from Pep Ventura to Gorg — a single stop, direction Paral·lel. The arena is about a block from Gorg. Honestly, in late-August Badalona heat this is a reasonable call, but the walk is genuinely easy.

4
Fan Fest — free, outside the arena
Before matches

Riot are running a Fan Fest in the space around the arena for the whole weekend. It's free and open to everyone, ticket or no ticket — team activations, community stuff, partner stands. It opens daily ahead of the matches.

This is the obvious place to meet your mates before doors, and it's the answer for any of the weekend where you haven't got a seat inside.

5
Going in
Check your ticket

Ticket on your phone, screen brightness up, and take your passport — arena entry for a Riot event will usually want photo ID matching the ticket. Reported start times are around 16:00 Friday and 17:00 Saturday and Sunday, but go by what's printed on your actual ticket.

Size trap. Vueling's cabin bag is 5 cm narrower, 5 cm shallower and 5 kg lighter than easyJet's. A bag that sailed through at Bristol may not fit Vueling's sizer. You've already paid for 25 kg in the hold on this flight — just check the big bag. It's free and it removes the problem.
Fly Grande lets you change the flight or cancel for credit up to 2 hrs before departure. Check-in closes 40 mins before; boarding closes 20 mins before.

It's in Badalona, not central Barcelona — and that's a good thing. The arena is 1.5 km up the same avenue, and Pep Ventura (L2) is a minute away for getting into the city.
Checkout is midday Sunday but the Ibiza flight isn't until 19:30. Ask reception about leaving your bags for the day — most places will, and it beats dragging them round Fan Fest.

Siesta is a quiet residential area just outside Santa Eulària town, on the east side of the island — the opposite end from the airport and from San Antonio. Screenshot the address anyway; you may be asked for it at the border.
You're on the Vueling flight with your friend, so you arrive together and the pickup is his family's to arrange. Nothing for you to sort — just confirm with him before you fly that someone's meeting you, so you're not both standing outside at 21:00 assuming the other one booked something.
Check in online — all three flightseasyJet closes online check-in 2 hrs before. Boarding passes saved to your phone wallet, not just sitting in an email.

🎮 The VCT weekend runs to Sunday

The Stage 2 Finals are 28–30 August, not just the Friday — three days, with the grand final on the Sunday. Reported start times are 16:00 Friday and 17:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

Your Ibiza flight is 19:30 on the Sunday. If you're holding a weekend pass, the Sunday session and the flight can't both happen — you'd need to be leaving for the airport around the time it starts.

Worth knowing exactly which days your ticket covers, so nobody finds this out on the day. The Fan Fest outside is free and open all weekend either way, so Sunday morning has an easy answer.

Needs: confirmation of which ticket(s) you actually hold

🛡️ Travel insurance

Being confirmed. Once it's settled the policy number and 24-hour emergency medical line go in this app so they're on your phone, not in a filing cabinet.
